Financial Incentives for Installing Energy Efficient Systems

Lower energy bills for the long haul are a major motivating factor for installing energy efficient systems. Add to that special tax incentives which are also available to home and building owners who choose to install energy efficient windows, heating and cooling systems. Even certain insulation and appliances qualify for a tax break in some states.

Several REHAU window and door designs and our RAUGEO™ ground loop heat exchange system qualify for tax credits under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and other more recent legislation aimed at increasing the use of energy-efficient products.

Geothermal: An uncapped 30-percent tax credit for residential investments in geothermal heat pump systems through 2016. REHAU's RAUGEO geothermal system qualifies under this program.

Windows and Doors: Homeowners may claim a tax credit for the purchase of energy efficient windows, doors and skylights. To be eligible for the credit, windows, doors and skylights must meet ENERGY STAR program requirements (many REHAU window and door designs meet these requirements) and be installed in the taxpayer's primary residence by December 31, 2011.
