1948: Company founded in Rehau, Germany
1949: 23 employees
1956: The first REHAU plant outside Germany is opened in Austria
1961: REHAU Plastics Inc. founded in North America
1965: Subsidiary in Morhange, France
1967: First performance evaluation of all employees with results linked to variable compensation shares
1972: Additional sales offices open in Germany, Thailand and Great Britain
1976 At the urging of REHAU, the position of plastics and rubber process mechanic becomes a recognized profession
1983: The 5,000-employee-mark is passed
1994: In Hungary, the first of currently twelve subsidiaries in Southeastern Europe opens
2000: Company founder, Helmut Wagner, transfers management of the corporate group to his sons: Jobst Wagner is named President of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Veit Wagner is named Vice-President
REHAU today: More than 14,000 employees worldwide with approx. 12,000 in Europe of whom approx. 7,300 are employed in Germany
