Over the last few weeks we have all become aware of COVID19 (coronavirus) and the seriousness of this issue is being debated at length. With China being the world’s largest market and manufacturing centre, this is raising questions about global supply chains related to a wide range of different products in all sorts of sectors.
One of the most important issues being discussed is a company’s reliance on a single manufacturing centre. It has been a lesson about “keeping all your eggs in one basket”, and its risks. Some businesses have made assumptions about their competitors’ supply chains and this has raised further issues.
Over many years REHAU has developed a network of manufacturing centres around the world. REHAU produces our products in a number of plants in different countries and have the ability to grow or shrink capacity as needed. While we haven’t focused specifically on the impact of an illness such as COVID19, our business continuity plan has always been to be as flexible and secure as possible in order to maintain supply and stock of a full range of products for all our customers.
No doubt the current COVID19 situation will evolve and as it does our commitment is to maintain supply and keep you informed about any changes if or when they occur.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your REHAU contact if you have any questions.
Wishing you all the best for your business.
