Growing in Capability

1948 Founded in the Bavarian town of Rehau. Three employees, one extruder. Initial products included shoe welting, garden hoses and automotive components.

REHAU Beetle Car

1951 Manufacturing of arm straps and sideboards begins for the VW Beetle.

1954 REHAU participates in Germany’s first heart operation using silicone tubes.

REHAU Window Profile

1958 Extrusion of first PVC window profile and first magnetic gasket system for refrigerator doors.

1962 REHAU Plastics Ltd formed in the UK. Head Office and Warehouse opened in Slough.

1969 Manchester Sales Office is opened.

1970 The first UK Automotive Department starts up at Slough with the development of bumper pads for the Mark III Ford Cortina.

REHAU Amlwch Factory

1975 Almlwch production facility is opened.

REHAU Blaenau Factory

1979 Continued expansion and a second factory established at Blaenau-Ffestiniog.

1987 The company name changes from "REHAU Plastics Ltd" to "REHAU Ltd".

REHAU Ross-on-Wye Headquarters

1995 New Year's Eve marks the most significant development of REHAU UK: the opening of the new headquarters in Ross-on-Wye.
The entire head office is relocated from Slough to Hill Court.

1998 New sales offices are opened at Glasgow and Dublin.

2002 REHAU Academy is launched.

2003 REHAU celebrated its 40th anniversary trading in the UK.

REHAU Polytec 50S

2004 Launch of the new Curtain Walling System, REHAU-Polytec.
Launch of RAUSOLID.

2005 Launch of REHAU-Edge - Fully Sculptured 70 mm System.
Launch of the new patented Thermal Insert sleeves for use with the existing S706 70mm chamfered profiles and the new 70mm REHAU-Edge sculptured profiles.
Launch of the new 70mm REHAU SOLELEC Electric Underfloor Heating.

2006 REHAU launches new corporate brand.

2011 REHAU has won the Bavarian Quality Prize in the Industry category for outstanding process and product quality, as well as for an innovative company-wide quality assurance concept. The award is from the Bavarian State Government for active protection of health and the environment.

Launch of ULTRALITEC: a new type of production process, which combines fibres with thermoplastic, by a special compression moulding and layering technique.

RAUVISIO brilliant

2013 Transferring expertise from edgeband to the surface of furniture, REHAU makes a decisive step towards being a full-range supplier to the furniture industry with its new RAUVISIO glass and high gloss laminates.

REHAU Today: Over 20,000 employees worldwide, with approx. 12,000 in Europe and 500 in the UK and Ireland. 170 locations world-wide.
