REHAU announce partnership with Hydro International

REHAU, a leader in the building services sector, has signed an exclusive agreement with Hydro International to see its stormwater management crate system supplied in the UK and Ireland.

The modular, easy to install crate system, already widely used across Europe, will be named Stormbloc® Optimum and will be available from February 2018.

Steve Richmond, Head of Marketing and Technical at REHAU, said: “Hydro International is the perfect partner for our stormwater products. The company is a strong player in the industry, the team have excellent technical knowledge and a wealth of experience. These factors combined stand them in perfect stead to supply our system into the UK and Ireland.

“This deal will see our two companies working together to deliver the product across the UK and Ireland. I’m looking foward to seeing this fantastic partnership continue to grow and develop into something both successful and long-lasting.“

One of the main benefits of REHAU’s stormwater crate is its stackability. By being collapsible, lorries are able to fit a higher number in load per journey. This is not only more economical but also reduces the carbon footprint of those involved. The compact nature of the crate also saves space on constrution sites.

Hydro International supply the renowned Hydro-Brake® Optimum flow control. The technology is the market-leading vortex flow control system for SuDS applications. When installed in series, Hydro-Brake® Optimum slows flow whilst Stormbloc® Optimum stores and attenuates the backed up water.

Andy Kane, Operations Director at Hydro International, added: “We wanted to find a partner that shared similar values to ourselves and we felt REHAU was absolutely the right choice. In addition to this, the REHAU stormwater management crate not only meets but exceeds both our requirements and our customers‘ requirements for a product with enhanced logistics and storage.

“We have over three decades of experience in delivering flow control and storage for sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and we help regulators, water companies, developers and contractors to deliver effective and sustainable drainage projects.

“To date, we have provided flow control and storage for projects ranging from large flood alleviation schemes to stormwater drainage for residential developments. I am really looking forward to bringing this fantastic technology to help engineers in both the UK and Ireland to deliver better, more effective SuDS projects."
