REHAU Window Solutions continues to lead the way as a driver and pioneer of lived sustainability. The All in One Partner pursues the development and implementation of strategically sound solutions for its customers and partners, built on decades of leadership in sustainability. Elena Vyboldina, Managing Director of the European window profile association EPPA, recently had the opportunity to witness this commitment first-hand.

Erlangen, June 19, 2026 – The two-day visit to REHAU Window Solutions and its subsidiary and recycling specialist Dekura provided Vyboldina with valuable insight into the significant contribution that industrial excellence makes to a successful European climate policy – from the Renovation Wave and the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) to a fully operational circular economy.

Industrial Excellence at First Hand: The Wittmund Production Facility

The visit began with an in-depth tour of REHAU Window Solutions’ Wittmund manufacturing site – one of the technologically most advanced production facilities for PVC window profiles in Europe. Frank Zimmermann, CTO of REHAU Window Solutions, together with Plant Manager Thomas Roblick, provided inspiring insights into leading-edge innovation, energy efficiency, recycling, and circular economy practices in the day-to-day production of PVC window systems.

Circular Economy in Action: Dekura in Höxter

The following day, the tour continued to Dekura’s recycling plant in Höxter, where Vyboldina was welcomed by Jörg Frömming, Managing Director of Dekura GmbH, alongside Carsten Heuer, CEO of REHAU Window Solutions. The focus was on circular economy practices that work in the real world: as a wholly owned subsidiary of REHAU Window Solutions, Dekura processes the recovered raw materials arising from post-consumer and post-industrial streams in window profile extrusion. In the production of one tonne of recyclate, for example, the CO₂ savings compared with virgin material already stand at 88 per cent today.

Dekura processes more than 70,000 tonnes of used windows and production waste annually into high-quality recyclate, which flows directly back into profile extrusion, including at the Wittmund plant. This network is complemented by sites in the United Kingdom and Poland, as well as almost 2,000 collection points across Europe.

Circular Economy as a Competitive Advantage

The fully closed circular economy of REHAU Window Solutions translates into material resource independence for partners and customers in practice. By closing the loop on material streams within the window industry, REHAU Window Solutions delivers a measurable impact on the CO₂ balance and secures long-term raw material availability.
