Penny logistics center | Bocklemünd, Cologne

Heat as required thanks to REHAU industrial underfloor heating

The flexible concept

Discount supermarket Penny, a company belonging to the REWE Group, invested in a new logistics center in Bocklemünd, Cologne. Costing EUR 48 million, the warehouse on Venloer Straße is one of the most cutting-edge storage facilities operated by Penny in Germany. More than 160 Penny supermarkets in the region are supplied via this depot.

Our solutions
The new warehouse is used to store frozen goods, fruit and vegetables, dairy products, meat and dry goods, and has an area for stacking bulk goods and an area with shelves. This means that there are concentrated loads in some areas of the warehouse. This subjects the industrial underfloor heating system to stringent requirements. Our system is more than capable of meeting these requirements. Furthermore, as the robust, shock-resistant pipes can be laid quickly and easily, the installation process in the 15,600 m² logistics facility encountered no issues at all.

Good reasons to opt for our industrial underfloor heating solution

  • Low operating costs thanks to effective heat distribution and low supply temperatures
  • Also suitable for alternative energy sources or the use of waste heat
  • Uniform warehouse temperature profile with minimal dust deposits
