REHAU Industrial Solutions impresses at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2026

Hamburg | April 2026 – The Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) celebrated its 25th anniversary this year – and REHAU Industrial Solutions was once again in the thick of it. From 14 to 16 April 2026, Hamburg became the global meeting place for the aircraft cabin and supplier industry. As the world’s leading trade fair for aircraft interiors, AIX offered a unique platform for exchange, innovation and partnership.

Meeting point for the cabin of the future

Since its premiere in 2000, AIX has become the central industry event for airlines, OEMs, MRO specialists and suppliers. Together with the Passenger Experience Conference (PEC) and the parallel World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE), it’s part of a unique trade fair ecosystem centred around the passenger experience of tomorrow.

In 2026, Hamburg once again proved to be an international hotspot for the aviation industry: from state-of-the-art comfort solutions and lightweight components to digital applications for maintenance and in-flight entertainment, the trade fair showcased the entire range of innovative cabin solutions.

Innovation meets partnership

REHAU Industrial Solutions was represented together with Silnova GmbH and its long-standing distribution partner Decorative Products GmbH. Despite a challenging economic environment and external factors such as strikes in the aviation sector, the trade fair stand was extremely well attended over all three days.

The focus was on personal discussions with customers and partners, an exchange on current market and development issues and the presentation of customised profile and silicone solutions to suit the complex requirements of the aviation industry. The trade fair impressively proved that customer focus, reliability and technical expertise are key success factors, even in uncertain times.

Material solutions for new requirements

A particular highlight was the presentation of the latest material developments under the claim “Synergizing Silicone”. Visitors were introduced to the next generation of the lightweight material RAU-FLIGHT Silicone as well as the new product SMARTsilicone.

SMARTsilicone combines proven silicone properties with intelligent additional functions, including:

magnetic properties for fixing, measuring or actuating,
electrically conductive variants for data and energy transmission and for EMI shielding, as well as
extended functionalities such as thermochromic effects, integrated light guidance or flexible electronics.

These open up new areas of application for functional, intelligent components in aircraft interiors.

Consistent attention to sustainability

In addition to innovations, the focus was also on sustainability. At AIX, samples of recycled regranulate approved by several manufacturers in the aviation industry were presented for the first time. The look, feel and mechanical properties match those of materials previously used.

In combination with the lightweight material RAU-FLIGHT – which allows for a reduction in weight of up to 10 per cent – and certification in accordance with EN9100:2018, REHAU Industrial Solutions is once again positioning itself as a competent partner for future-proof profile systems in aviation.

Lasting partnerships

Another highlight was the anniversary of over 20 years of cooperation with Decorative Products GmbH. The joint approach “Manufactured by REHAU & Silnova – Supplied by Decorative Products” combines development expertise, manufacturing excellence and market access.

“Partnership over decades” is more than just a leitmotif – it describes a practised form of cooperation characterised by trust, reliability and shared innovation goals.
