Living in an ever-changing world, homeowners’ attitudes towards what they want from their kitchens and bathrooms is constantly evolving.

A desire for bespoke rooms which make smart use of the space available opens up an untapped opportunity for designers to explore unique solutions.

While remaining on trend is key to many, opting for materials and products which also offer longevity and easy maintenance is also essential. Moreover, there’s increased demand from homeowners looking for hygienic surfaces that not only provide a tidy, long-lasting finish, but also protect the wellbeing of the household. But can designs be both stylish and functional?

Designing Differently is a campaign which delves into how households’ demands are changing when it comes to these regularly used rooms. With almost 70 per cent of people reporting that spending more time at home over the pandemic had increased their desire to make improvements to the kitchen and bathroom, the report explores how designers can tap into this opportunity to reflect the latest trends within their designs.
