Niklas Braun, both chairman of the Automotive Executive Board and head of Engineering and R&D Automotive, has been appointed to the REHAU Group Executive Board effective October 1, 2012. In this role, he will represent the high turnover automotive division at the global level.
Braun has been employed by REHAU, a privately-owned company specializing in polymer-based innovations, since 2002. He has held various management positions in Production, Supervisory Board Staff, Research/Development and Technology and Innovation Management. As head of Production/Technology, Braun was deployed to the US as a member of the REHAU North America Executive Board for a period of two years. He was appointed to the Automotive Executive Board, which has worldwide responsibility, at the beginning of 2009. In 2011, he took the chair.
Considering the forthcoming challenges in a demanding business environment, the REHAU Group is pleased to have gained in Braun an internationally experienced junior executive from its own ranks.
In addition to construction and industry, the automotive division belongs to the pillars of the REHAU Group. Each third vehicle produced in Europe – as well as numerous vehicles produced in the US – is equipped with REHAU polymer system solutions, such as bumper systems. REHAU is development partner to automotive manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. In 2011, the automobile division accounted for more than 30 percent of the total worldwide turnover for the REHAU Group.
