South African family-owned companies to become part of the Group

Africa offers diverse market opportunities and potential for growth. At the beginning of 2022, the Region Africa was established under the leadership of Dr. Lukas Neumann to develop the opportunities of the continent for REHAU. With the acquisition of the owner-managed manufacturing companies Seal Cool Industries (Pty) (SCI) and Plasmix (Pty), the next important cornerstone for further growth has now been laid. 

Located in Johannesburg, Seal Cool Industries, with its sister company Plasmix, is a leading manufacturer of plastic profiles in Africa. It's core competencies lie in the areas of plastic extrusion and injection moulding. With around 100 employees, Seal Cool Industries manufactures a wide range of applications for the construction, furniture, and industrial sectors. Customers are supplied throughout the continent.

“The acquisition of Seal Cool Industries enables us to achieve significant growth in the Region Africa. On the strong foundation of Seal Cool Industries and Plasmix, REHAU can further expand its’ portfolio in a future-oriented manner," emphasizes Dr. Lukas Neumann, CEO Region Africa. "We are also a good fit in terms of our corporate culture. Together, we want to be even more successful on the continent and beyond." While details of the future business structure have not yet been formalised, all of Seal Cool Industries and Plasmix employees will be taken over by REHAU. “We are pleased to welcome the entire team to the REHAU Group”, emphasises Neumann. The company's new management team consists of Stephan van Niekerk, REHAU Country Manager South Africa and CEO, as well as the company's current management: Rudolf Hasert CTO, Karlo Blazevic COO and Mirjana Blazevic CFO. The sentiments expressed by Neumann are echoed by Karlo Blazevic who states: “The acquisition by REHAU allows the full potential of our manufacturing base to be utilised and we are particularly excited about the expansion of the business, which we will embark upon with the new team”.

The signing took place on 20.10.2023. The acquisition is subject to the approval of by the Competition Commission of South Africa.
