Erlangen. - The unique combination of REHAU's strong market position as a leading manufacturer in the areas of water installation and building drainage in conjunction with the system expertise of innovative sanitary technology from MEPA creates new opportunities through expanded business models. With the integration of the MEPA business units, the independent family-owned company REHAU is investing in the sustainable expansion of its holistic product portfolio in the field of building technology.
A solid foundation unites the two family/owner-managed companies, which consider their shared understanding of values, combined with high product expertise and a strong sales team, as the basis for future success.
"It is our stated aim to drive the sustainable international expansion with a comprehensive, coordinated portfolio and a joint product strategy," says Dr Roger Schönborn, Head of the REHAU Building Solutions Division. “Together, we want to become one of the leading providers for the entire water management in the building." The ideal addition of the strategic gaps in the respective product ranges brings clear opportunities for growth. Investments in the expansion of production capacities as well as further planned investments in the areas of personnel, marketing and logistics are intended to sustainably support the growth course.
"Furthermore, with their combined innovative strength and the pooling of technical and logistical expertise, both companies create the prerequisites for successful market penetration and development," Reiner Pauli, Managing Director of MEPA - Pauli und Menden GmbH, is also convinced of this.
MEPA - Pauli und Menden GmbH will in future become part of the REHAU Group as an independent legal entity with links to the REHAU Building Solutions Division in Erlangen. Reiner Pauli will continue in his active shareholder role and, as the family representative of MEPA - Pauli und Menden GmbH, will also be involved in the operational business in the future. In his role as Managing Director, he will report directly to Dr. Roger Schönborn.
The two companies expect the transaction be completed by the end of 2022, subject to usual closing conditions and antitrust approvals. Further information on the transaction will follow after the decision of the German Federal Cartel Office.
