REHAU announces the availability of custom floating shelves in high-gloss, matte and textured woodgrain finishes as an extension of its modern custom cabinet door line. Patent-pending concealed mounting brackets allow the shelves to bear considerable weight while contributing to a sleek, minimalistic design aesthetic.

These modern, streamlined shelves are capable of replacing the storage capacity of upper cabinets while lending airiness and uncluttered style to kitchen, bath and accent-wall design. The high-quality shelving developed by REHAU has a storage capacity of up to 15 pounds per linear foot, enabling displayed storage of far heavier items than previously possible without visible hardware.

“Whether the goal is simply to clear clutter or to spark joy, providing ample storage is a vital function of interior design,” said Jesse Collins, marketing manager with REHAU’s furniture solutions division. “Our new floating shelves are an elegant way to expand storage for everything from dishes and small appliances to decorative objects, while complementing the clean, no-hardware design of modern European-style cabinets.”

Rugged in function, REHAU floating shelves have a crisp, clean finish. Unlike the self-edge finish of traditional shelving, REHAU exclusively offers shelves finished with perfectly matched edgebanding, enhancing durability and visual appeal.

“The corners and edges of shelving are front and center, so their finish can either enhance or detract from the display,” said Mark Kraus, director of engineering with REHAU’s furniture solutions division. “Instead of looking at joints that often reveal glue lines and kraft paper, with REHAU edgebanding you see smooth, clean corners that reflect our attention to detail that is evident throughout our custom cabinet door line.”

REHAU floating shelves are an extension of the company’s modern custom cabinet door line offered in more than 100 surfaces including high-gloss, matte, glass, metallic and natural designs. The shelving is offered to match the most on-trend cabinet door designs, including those in the RAUVISIO brilliant^TM mirror high-gloss, FENIX NTM^® nanotech matte and RAUVISIO terra^TM textured woodgrain lines.

Manufactured with a sturdy, 3/4 in (19 mm) MDF core, the 2 3/8 in (60.3 mm) thick shelves are offered in depths of 10 and 12 in (254 and 304.8 mm) and custom, made-to-order lengths from 22 to 96 in (558.8 to 2438.4 mm). The shelves install over drywall with typical do-it-yourself tools including a level, drill and stud finder. The innovative mounting bracket inserts through an open cavity at the back of the shelf and allows for lateral adjustment to the desired location for ease of installation and removal.
