Strong connection

Developed for underground and suburban railways, REHAU aluminium-steel power rails combine modern production methods with durable materials. The result is a secure joining of the aluminium profile and stainless steel strip independent of the clamping force and the remaining thickness of the steel strip. The innovative design of the power rails ensures that there is no longitudinal slippage between the materials.

The stainless steel insert has a wear thickness of 6 mm, which provides for an exceptionally long service life of the "third rail" and offers high mechanical and electric wear resistance - even under difficult conditions such as sparking and arcing. Flat along its entire length, the stainless steel strip offers a smooth steel surface in longitudinal as well as in transversal directions for outstanding collector shoe gliding and thus optimal electric contact during operation.
