RAUTITAN is the original PE-Xa piping system. In 1988 REHAU invented compression sleeve jointing technology, and RAUTITAN was born. Created through years of research and development, RAUTITAN combines installation speed and ease of use with security and reliability to provide the ultimate plumbing system for modern construction projects.

The system consists of 4 key elements:

PIPES

REHAU PE-Xa and PE-Xa/Al/PE pipes set the benchmark for performance, quality and reliability.

OPTIMUM FLEXIBILITY AND KINK RESISTANCE

RAUTITAN pipes are made of PE-Xa, which requires a production process that creates the highest degree of crosslinking. This ensures optimum flexibility and the highest kink resistance. The highly malleable Aluminium layer coupled with thicker PE-Xa inliner makes RAUTITAN PE-Xa/Al/PE more flexible and kink resistant.

TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE RESISTANCE RAUTITAN

PE-Xa pipes are rated PN20 SDR7.4) and thus exceed AS/NZS 3500 standard requirements for hot water application.

Life expectancy of PE-Xa water pipes is 50 years under continuous hot water operation temperature 70°C and pressure 1.33MPa*.

HIGHEST CORROSION RESISTANCE

The Australian standard (AS2345) states DZR brass fittings should have an average corrosion depth of 100μm.
REHAU RAUTITAN ONE fittings have a maximum corrosion depth of only 50μm.
More than double the corrosion resistance than the Australian Standard.

SLEEVES

Easy-slide reversible sleeve approved for use with both gas and hot & cold water.

REVERSIBLE

The PX sleeve is reversible, meaning it can be put on in either direction. This means no need to check the sleeve for the chamfered ends

and zero connection mistakes. Just pick up the sleeve from the box, slip it over the pipe, expand, compress, DONE!

MORE BATTERY LIFE

The PX sleeve requires less initial force to secure the joint. This is because PVDF maintains its tightness as the pipe ages. Brass doesn’t, so it needs to be over-tightened initially to compensate. PVDF also slides more easily along the pipe surface.

40% less force means up to 70% longer battery life. PX sleeve ensures less time charging your tool and less downtime.

MORE SECURE

A PX sleeve thermally expands and contracts with the pipe, ensuring an even force of compression between sleeve, pipe and barb throughout fluctuating operating temperatures.

UNIFORM PIPE EXPANSION

Expansion of the pipe is critical for the leak-tight joint. REHAU’s expansion head segments are made from a specially engineered high tensile steel and are held in place by rivets, maximising durability and ensuring uniform segment expansion, every time.
