People Behind REHAU AP
Banita, Gary, Archie, Paisarn and Sarunyoo joined the REHAU team to contribute to our growth strategy in South-East Asia (SEA). We speak to them to find out more about their passion.
Can you introduce yourself and your role?
Banita: I joined REHAU on 1st May 2021 in the capacity of Market Area Leader, Furniture Solutions (FS) SEA. My responsibility is to take care of FS business in SEA and drive growth. FS SEA has gone through a rough patch in the last few years. Hence my key focus area is to find out the pain areas, set the value target, restructure, align and drive the team towards achieving the target.
Sarunyoo: I joined REHAU as Senior Sales Representative, Furniture Solutions (FS). I am responsible for the sales functions for FS products in Thailand to achieve the target.
Gary: I am Head of Finance for South-East Asia.
Archie: Mabuhay! I am the Furniture Solutions (FS)/ Industrial Solutions (IS) Sales Manager and Sales Office Manager of REHAU Philippines.
Paisarn: I am Paisarn and I am the Industrial Solutions (IS) Sales Manager of REHAU Thailand.
What do you see is your greatest challenge?
Archie: The biggest hindrance we are facing now is the rising cost of materials. However, there is an opportunity for us with the development of our economically-priced products that will cater to the commodity market. We need to adapt and move forward.
Paisarn: I agree. Supply chain issues have been made much worse by the COVID-19 pandemic that caused a raw material price increase that continues rising. I considered this as the greatest challenge. In order to survive in the market, we have to drive efficiencies and lower costs together with pricing strategy.
Gary: For me, it is about improving automation and adopting a lean structure.
Can you tell us about your happiest moment working with your colleagues?
Archie: Every day is a great day when we are working with our team. We always strive to accomplish our objectives to reach our common goal and celebrate our small victories.
Paisarn: Helen Keller said and I quote, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."
Sarunyoo: It is always a great pleasure to see many faces from our regional offices visiting our plant in Thailand. It allows me to catch up on both business and personal developments with my colleagues and senior management.
Where do you see the greatest potential for sales/growth?
Sarunyoo: I am expecting that the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand will getting better soon. Therefore, the Thailand market should improve accordingly from the increase in demand domestically for us to capture the lost market share.
Archie: As the economic growth is expected to rebound this year, there are a lot of opportunities for expansion in the construction and building materials industry. We are seeing an increase in residential construction and renovation coupled with commercial building developments. This trajectory will pave the way for growth in both our FS and BT business.
Working for REHAU, what does success mean to you?
Gary: It is about meeting challenges and overcoming challenges.
Archie: Success is to be able to provide an opportunity for my team to grow professionally within the organization.
Banita: Success to me in a global company like REHAU – I would describe it in 3 words i.e “Absorb, Implement and Spread”– Learning from global leaders who support talent development; Implementing the right practices to achieve the business goal and sharing the knowledge with the team to shape them into becoming upcoming leaders who can make a difference.
