REHAU feeling positive about Interzum 2017
The world’s leading trade fair for the supplier industry in Cologne showed itself on top form this year, breaking records with over 69,000 visitors from 152 countries. The atmosphere in Cologne was fantastic and resulted in an extremely successful event for us, "says Matthias Haasler, Head of Product Management Surface and Head of REHAU at Interzum.
The exhibition stand took on a loft-like theme this year, where REHAU showcased the flexibility polymeric materials can offer.
Visitors were particularly impressed by some of the innovations that REHAU presented, such as the glass laminate, RAUVISIO crystal, which was represented with two new trend colours this year. The acrylic laminate RAUVISIO brilliant not only introduced as selection to new colours, but also a highly scratch-resistant, improved version.
But that wasn’t all that REHAU pulled out of the bag. There was reason to celebrate: the innovative polymer mirror, RAUVISIO crystal mirror was awarded the coveted Interzum award.
Outstanding feedback from international visitors
"For REHAU this year’s event has ended with an excellent result," says Matthias Haasler. "We have been able to welcome more visitors to our stand than in the previous years." However the number of visitors is only one aspect. "Our industry is international, we are international. This aspect has to be taken into account in every trade fair planning, and Interzum in Cologne is able to fulfill its role as an international fair. Its global recognition and importance makes it unique to us. "
On the 550-square-meter booth, REHAU provided a comprehensive insight into the world of polymer surfaces. The focus was not so much on individual products as the diversity that can be achieved with the whole interior collection. Some of the main products from the REHAU portfolio, RAUVISIO surface materials, RAUKANTEX edgeband, RAUVOLET roller shutter systems and the acoustic solutions were combined in a particular space / concepts for different living environments. "There is a trend that drives the interior industry internationally - in the USA as well as in China and South America - in individuality, every person wants to recapture his personality, in his surroundings. How we can help with our solutions was clearly demonstrated at Interzum, which has attracted tremendous interest and consistently received positive feedback, "says Matthias Haasler.
Another area of interest, and one which continues to constantly develop further, is the RAUKANTEX edgeband range, was also on show at Interzum. The past few years have shown a particular focus on zero joint edging.
"The zero joint finish has become more and more established in the furniture industry," says Matthias Haasler. "We have not only shown that we can provide the right edge for every surface through our partnerships with board and laminate manufacturers, but we have also proven that we can adapt to changes in production and zero joint quality for almost every application and material development.
In addition to the edgeband, the glass laminate RAUVISIO crystal mirror impressed: this extremely flexible material, which is considerably lighter and brighter than conventional mirror glass, was awarded the ‘Interzum award: intelligent material & design 2017’ by the Interzum awards committee.
A real highlight for the Furniture Solutions Team at REHAU.
