Emissions from how we heat our buildings are a key challenge for the UK to reach net zero by 2050 due to the prevalence of fossil fuel boilers in homes and commercial buildings. This talk will cover the considerations for incorporating low-carbon technologies such as district heating and heat pumps into retrofit projects compared to a new build project. There are many myths surrounding heat networks and heat pumps and what buildings they can and can’t be deployed in and the expert speaker line-up will tackle some of these common misconceptions.

The event will give attendees an introduction to how district heat networks and heat pumps work and their benefits and include various case studies of retrofit low carbon district heat projects. The expert speaker line-up is made up of Bean Beanland, Director of Growth & External Affairs for the Heat Pump Federation; Simon Eddleston, Director of Construction at Switch2 Energy and Steve Richmond, Head of Marketing & Technical at REHAU.
