LEESBURG, Va., October 22, 2015 – As an exclusive distributor for FENIX NTM, REHAU recently launched this high-tech matte material designed and manufactured by Italian-based Arpa Industriale as part of its Surface Solutions Program.

On October 15, the company hosted 35 commercial interior designers for an event at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, where they were treated to an experience with nanotech surfaces and sushi. As it turned out, the two make a great pair.

The highlight of the evening was a sushi lesson from Chef Ron Martin. Afterward, participants plated the sushi on special platters made from the super-matte surface material FENIX NTM and dined together on their own creations. The platters doubled as gifts for each guest.

The evening's activities were designed for guests to interact with the product in ways that demonstrate each of its unique qualities.

The surface features the ability to thermally regenerate and “heal” minor scratches. It is safe for food contact, has enhanced anti-bacterial properties, does not show fingerprint marks and its ultra-low light reflectivity gives it the “super-matte” appearance currently driving major design trends.

Special thanks to everyone in attendance, the REHAU Americas team, ARPA Industriale and Sandy Smith of Design Interaction, a specification rep working on behalf of REHAU.
