Ashley Pak | Marketing Intern- Furniture
I was offered two marketing internships and I chose REHAU for many reasons. REHAU’s marketing internship in the furniture department was very research driven, which was something I haven’t done. I did marketing research for cabinets by finding out more information about the industry and the different types of cabinets on the market. One of my main projects was to develop a direct mailing series campaign that targeted commercial interior designers. I also assisted with increasing audience engagement for several different social media platforms. It was very beneficial to be able to use what I learned in my classes at the Virginia Tech in the work place.
Jesse Collins was my supervisor, who actually used to be an intern at REHAU years before. It was nice to see that the internships here can lead to a job offer if there is an open position. She was a great mentor and was always helpful. Jesse invited me to her meetings to see what the days are like in her position. No matter how busy she was, she always made time to check if I had any questions or concerns about my projects. Everyone at REHAU is super communicative and is always willing to help each other out on projects.
I’ve had office jobs before, but I enjoyed this experience a lot because of the extremely welcoming environment. REHAU has a decent-size intern class. It’s nice to have people my age working around me, even if they are in different departments. REHAU also likes to integrate fun things, such as the company picnic planned by the interns or bringing food trucks to the building. REHAU is striving toward an even better company culture and I’m excited to see where that will lead for employees and future interns.
