LEESBURG, VA., October 28, 2013 – REHAU announces the appointment of Markus Grundmann to the position of CEO and chairman of the board of directors of the company's Automotive division, as well as to the group executive board of the globally operative REHAU Group.
Grundmann, head of marketing and sales and previously deputy CEO of the strategic business division, brings longstanding experience within REHAU, having originally joined the company in 1998. He became Automotive divisional manager in 2002, and was appointed executive director of the Automotive division and a member of the REHAU Central Europe regional executive board in 2007. Grundmann has also held his most recent position as head of marketing and sales, as well as been a member of the Automotive division board of directors and its deputy CEO, since 2009. In his new appointment, he takes the place of departing REHAU Automotive division board of directors chairman Niklas Braun.
One in three vehicles manufactured in Europe is equipped with system solutions from REHAU, including bumper assemblies, body side moldings and cutting-edge air and water management systems. REHAU is additionally a development partner to all major car manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
Alongside Construction and Industry, the Automotive division forms one of the central pillars of the REHAU Group, which in total generated global sales of approximately 2.8 billion euros in 2012. REHAU’s Automotive division accounted for more than 30 percent of this revenue, and nearly 50 percent from activities in Germany alone. The division continues to exhibit growth, including in the opening of the company’s fifteenth automotive plant this month in Györ, Hungary.
