Looks Just Like Glass
RAUVISIO crystal provides the sleek shine of glass in a lighter-weight, durable polymer. The UV-resistant, fully customizable boards feature colorfastness with much lower production costs and the convenience of cutting and drilling during installation.
Scratch and Impact Resistant
Reduced sensitivity to impact and scratching means fewer rejects due to breakage and imperfections, so your project is both visually stunning and cost efficient.
Seamless Edging Technology
Matching RAUVISIO crystal edgebands are processed into REHAU LaserEdge™, then applied using the latest adhesive-free laser or hot-air machine technology. The resulting seamless boards have the elegance and quality of glass with a flawless finish.

What is RAUVISIO crystal?
Acrylic (PMMA) back painted glass, comes in 2.0 mm sheets or pre-laminated to MDF at ¾” finished thickness. Laminated boards have 2.0 mm RAUVISIO crystal on top in high-gloss and matte options, and 2.0 mm color-matched balance sheet.
What is RAUVISIO crystal slim?
RAUVISIO crystal slim is a sheet of 2.0mm RAUVISIO crystal laminated directly to a 2.0 mm color-matched balance sheet. This 4.0 mm panel can be used for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom wall panels, or other applications where a ¾” (19mm) board is not needed.
Is RAUVISIO crystal suitable for horizontal applications?
RAUVISIO crystal is suitable for all vertical applications, and horizontal applications that are not exposed to high temperatures. For kitchen applications, RAUVISIO crystal is designed for cabinet doors, drawer fronts, end panels, side walls and backsplashes. However, it is not recommended for kitchen countertops.
What are the advantages of crystal to real glass and other High Gloss surfaces?
RAUVISIO crystal is easier to process than real glass, has much higher impact resistance and is lighter in weight. Glass can require custom sizing, pre planning of handle positioning and electrical outlet cutouts and considerable stocking requirements for each variant.
RAUVISIO crystal is the ultimate high gloss surface because it has the 3D depth effect and clarity of glass, excellent scratch and impact resistance and breathtaking mirror quality optical grade reflection. RAUVISIO crystal laminates, balancing sheets and edgeband are all perfectly matched.
Can RAUVISIO crystal be laminated like HPL, or other laminates?
Technically yes, but the quality of high gloss surface will suffer. If the wrong adhesive is used, the crystal laminate can move when exposed to temperatures of 140F (60C), and shrink away from the edgebanded edge. We strongly recommend only PUR lamination to achieve a perfectly flat high gloss surface. All of our pre-laminated boards are PUR laminated in a state of the art clean room environment.
Can RAUVISIO crystal be postformed?
RAUVISIO crystal is not designed to be postformed as the acrylic layer is 1.6 mm or thicker and the lacquer does not have flex agents. (For very large scale projects, a custom formulation has been developed to allow RAUVISIO crystal to conform to 16” (400mm) radii).
What can be used for edging?
Duo-Design REHAU LaserEdge has a clear acrylic (PMMA) upper portion that matches the thickness of the glass laminate, and the rest of the edgeband is color matched to the back painted color.
Mirror gloss is used when the transparent portion is milled away, revealing the beveled edge of the glass laminate.
To achieve the intended seamless look between the surface and the edge, REHAU LaserEdge should be used (applied with hot air or laser edgebander). All of our finished components come with REHAU LaserEdge applied. We do not offer matching edgebanding for RAUVISIO crystal without REHAULaserEdge.
Does RAUVISIO crystal have any directionality?
No, RAUVISIO crystal has no directionality.
What size are RAUVISIO crystal boards?
RAUVISIO crystal boards come in 1300mm x 2800mm (51”x 110”) and are ¾” thick nominally.
Do RAUVISIO boards come in special packaging?
Boards are shipped on a pallet, sandwiched between top and bottom protective boards. The pallet is banded with polyester strapping, and plastic wrapped.
Are custom colors available?
Yes, there is an MOQ and the lead-time is approximately 15 weeks (approx 5 weeks to customer approval, approx 5 weeks to produce, and approx 5 weeks shipping via sea freight). There is a one-time charge of for a custom color.
What about custom applications?
For large enough projects, RAUVISIO crystal can be produced as a mirror (has greater fogging resistance than glass), as a magnetic marker board (using steel sheet sandwiched between RAUVISIO crystal slim layers), and other interesting applications.
What materials are used in REHAU Cabinet Doors?
All of our components are laminated onto the highest surface quality MDF available, laminated with PUR hot melt, and laser edgebanded with our matching REHAU LaserEdge.
Do REHAU Cabinet Doors come with a warranty?
Yes, they come with a 5 year warranty. See warranty for details.
Will REHAU Cabinet Doors have issues in a kitchen environment?
Our finished doors and components are designed to withstand heat and steam from cook tops and dishwashers in close proximity. This is because the MDF core is sealed in from the elements by the PUR glue and the polymer functional layer of the edgeband. We have passed strict European AMK kitchen tests, which test temperature resistance, infiltration of water vapor, humid climate resistance, alternating climate resistance and long term heat storage (4 weeks at 122F (50C) temperature).
What are my options for end panels?
For end panels, the best option is to order finished end panels with the doors. If this is not possible, then 2.0mm thick laminate sheets can be ordered cut to size that can be glued to pre-built cabinet end panels.
